Meant to Be

I love coincidences, those little moments when you can’t help but think, What are the odds? Just today, I ran into my best friend at Walmart. She was shopping for food for us to eat when I come over for a sleepover tomorrow. Neither of us had planned to go to Walmart today. In fact, it was quite out of the ordinary for us both. For some reason or other, we both ended up passing each other. “Jessie!” She shrieked! “Salina!” I exclaimed back! We both ran into each other’s arms, surprised and a bit overwhelmed at how weird the situation was. What were the odds?

After the unexpected meeting with Salina, I got to thinking about the mysterious ways of fate. Neither of us had known we’d run into each other today, yet it happened. Who would’ve thought? Maybe we were destined.

Like meeting your future soul mate or crossing paths with a soon-to-be best friend, there are little events in our lives that we like to think of as meant to be.

I believe that God brings special people into our lives for a reason, and it’s truly miraculous when you really think about it. Without my friends, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Without my family, I definitely wouldn’t be the young woman I’ve grown up to be. God chose my family, He’s helping me choose my friends, and I have no doubt in my mind He’s going to continue introducing me to people who will make an impact in my life. I believe that even if I never met these certain people at the moment or place I did, God would’ve found a way to bring them into my lives again. My friends and family are too valuable to just be coincidences. I truly believe it was fate. What about you? Who are the people in your lives that are leaving footprints in your heart? Who are the people who bring out the best in you, and have shaped you and helped mold you into the person you are now?

Count your blessings, especially the gift of companionship. I never cease to thank God for my friends or family because I know that without them, I might not have the relationship I do with Him now. He brought them into my life and I have no doubt in my mind He will continue to bless me with friends beyond what I deserve.

For this, I am grateful. I know that God has a plan for me and the people that cross my path might just play a bigger role than I could imagine. Some things are simply meant to be.
