When You're Hurting
"Sometimes it feels like my heart is breaking when I see my baby crying over something I can't fix or control. This week she has a tooth breaking through and I can tell it's distressing her, and watching those big crocodile tears roll down her cheeks makes me so, so sad. She doesn't understand the pain she's feeling, the changes that she is going through. To her it just hurts. That's all she knows, and so there's no stopping the tears.
I can't count the number of times I have been in those same shoes, shedding tears over something that I can't understand, only knowing that I'm in pain and thinking it won't ever go away. My first heartbreak. Loneliness. Rejection. Painful childhood memories. Waiting. Loss."
